Nepal has been drawn alongside the United Arab Emirates, Scotland, Canada, and Hongkong in Group A of the ICC cricket world cup qualifiers 2014 to be held in New zealand from january 13 to february 1.
Nepal, which secured it's berth in the ICC world t-20 last week, has already started preparations for the qualifiers of the 50 overs (one day internationals) world cup.
The international Cricket counsil (ICC) Officially released the schedule of the qualifiers on wednesday. As per the schedule, the Netherlands,Papua New Guinea, Kenya, Namibia and Uganda have been drawn into group B.
The top three teams of the groups will progress to the super six round of the tournament.
Nepal will play the UAE at Rangiora oval in christchurch on january 13 in it's first match of the qualifiers. The Nepalg team will them face scotland at Queenstown events center,Queenstwon on January16 and Hong Kong on January 19 at Rangiora Oval. Nepal's last group stage match is on January 21 against Canada at Hagley Oval,Christchurch.
The 10 teams will battle it out in the qualifying tournament for the remaining two places in the ICC Cricket world cup 2015, due to be played in Australia and New Zealand from february 14 to march 29 next year.
Among the ICC's Associate and Affiliate members, ireland and Afganisthan have already qualified for the world cup.
WARM UP MATCHES
ICC has arranged two warm up matches for Nepal ahead of the qualifying tournament. Nepal will play Namibia at Burwood Park, Christchurch on january 10 in the first warm up match and face Kenya at St Andrew's Colege, Christchurch a day later.
